When Bluff Manufacturing engineers a ramp specifically around what real loading operations actually need, and strips away everything they don’t, the result is the CORE Model. At 20,000 pounds of rated capacity across a 36-foot deck (with a 6-foot level-off zone for clean, controlled trailer entry), this is a ramp built to perform shift after shift without asking for attention.
The 84-inch-wide deck (78 inches usable) gives forklift operators the room to work confidently. The double-acting hydraulic pump adjusts height from 33 inches to 67 inches without drama. The solid rubber pneumatic-profile 18-inch tires and tethered ramp clamp allow forklift-assisted repositioning anywhere your operation demands it. Safety chains and 8-inch side rail safety curbs ship standard, because they should.

Frequently Asked Questions: Bluff CORE Model Yard Ramp
Is the CORE Model available for immediate shipment? The CORE Model ships from Bluff Manufacturing’s Fort Worth, TX facility within 7–10 working days of order confirmation. Freight time varies by destination and carrier availability and is quoted separately in writing. Note also that while The Yard Ramp Guy attempts to keep inventory in stock at their depots around the country, they are sold and rented on a first-come, first-served basis.
What is the difference between overall width and usable width? The CORE Model has an overall width of 84″. The usable deck width — the surface area available for forklift travel — is 78″. The remaining 6″ accommodates the structural side framing and 8″ run-off curbs on each side.
What does lip purchase mean, and why does it matter? Lip purchase is the amount of overlap between the ramp’s front apron and the trailer floor or dock surface it rests on. The CORE Model provides 16″ of lip purchase, which keeps the ramp stable and properly seated during loading operations.
Can the CORE Model be used as a permanent dock installation? Yes. The CORE Model includes pre-drilled anchor holes on both the top and bottom aprons for optional permanent dock installation. Contact The Yard Ramp Guy® for guidance on that configuration.
Does the CORE Model include a tow bar? The CORE Model ships standard with a tethered ramp clamp. A tow bar is not included but may be available as an option. Ask our sales team for details.
What forklift capacity is required to operate this ramp? A general industry guideline is to select a ramp rated at three times the lift capacity of your forklift. A 20,000 lb. rated ramp is typically matched to a forklift with up to a 6,500–7,000 lb. lift capacity. Consult your forklift specifications and site safety protocols before deployment.

Equipment is sold AS IS. Equipment manufactured by Bluff Manufacturing, Mid-State Ramps, or Quality Material Handling carry a one-year warranty from manufactured date. Beyond that date, and for all equipment built by any other manufacturer, where not under warranty, Buyer assumes all responsibility for any part or labor required upon purchase; for example, anything related to ramp mobility or structural components. Buyer is encouraged to schedule an inspection at site prior to purchase.
Photos shown are usually of actual ramp. We attempt to post photos highlighting the most recent known current condition of each ramp. Where we do not yet have photos on the condition of a ramp, or if the ramp is considered Like New, we post factory stock photos.
Rental Rates and Sale Prices are subject to change. Freight is not included in posted pricing. Freight will be quoted in writing. All transactions require customer’s signature on a written Sales Quote or Rental Agreement from The Yard Ramp Guy.
Buyers and renters are welcomed to inspect the ramp prior to signing Sales Quote or Rental Agreement. Upon request, The Yard Ramp Guy will arrange site visits.
Ramps are committed on a 1st come/1st served basis. Reservation of ramp is guaranteed with signed Sales Quote or Rental Agreement AND payment. All used or rental ramps are subject to prior sale.
Allow 1-3 days for dedicated flatbed. Add 3-5 days for partial load flatbed. Transit time varies dependent upon freight lane, miles, national holidays, traffic conditions, and weather. The Yard Ramp Guy is not liable for any loss of business due to a ramp arriving after the expected date and/or time.
